The purpose of this article is to offer a brief introduction to our WebStudio and some of its functionality. This article is not intended as a in-depth guide; for more information on specific topics, please use our search feature to the right.

How to log in

In general, most of our WebStudios can be logged in from the "admin" subdirectory of your website. For example, if your site's address were www.sitename.com, you would find our WebStudio at www.sitename.com/admin. If you are not logged in, you will be prompted to do so.

For added convenience and security all of our system logins utilize the OpenID system. You can click here to learn more about setting up and logging in with an OpenID account.

For privacy and/or when there are enhanced security concerns, your WebStudio may be moved to an alternative subdirectory and/or domain. If you are having trouble locating your WebStudio, feel free to contact one of our agents and we will guide you to the appropriate location.

Functionality

Once inside your WebStudio, you will find a list of sections to your left. This is your WebStudio's main menu. You can browse through this menu to see a listing of all the different functions you have available to you.

Each WebStudio has a set of universal functions such as page management, file management, etc. Some sites may also have more customized data management tools depending on their unique needs. If ever you do not know what a particular page does, you can simply surf to that page and select the "Help with this page" option on that page.

Depending on your access level you may or may not be able to see certain functions such as page or file management. If you do not see something but believe you should, then you should contact your site administrator about getting access. Each of these pages is part of a workgroup, and your administrator will need to give your user-account access to that workgroup.

Data Managers

The most common pages you will find in your WebStudio are something we call Data Managers (or just "Managers"). Each Manager allows you to interact, create, edit, and remove information on your site based on the kind of data it is and how it relates to other information.

The primary goal of Managers is to simplify editing and maintaining your information while still offering flexibility and versatility. This goal is achieved by creating an interface that can be shared across all of your managers. As you learn how to use one Manager, you will be learning how to use all of them regardless of the type of data it is managing.
